Warm up with Soup & Chili!
Winter has arrived with a vengeance in Chicago!  When the cold hits, we are here for meal ideas to fill your bellies and warm your bodies.   Did you know we make dozens of small batch, kettle crafted flavors to satisfy any taste pallet?  They are ready to heat and serve, making delicious, easy meals in minutes.  Our soups and chilis are delicious just as they come- or you can use the ideas below to make them your own!


Immune Booster Chicken Noodle Soup

  • 1 Bag (4 lbs.) Mama’s Chicken Noodle Soup click here to buy 
  • 2 Cups of Fresh Spinach or Other Dark Leafy Greens
  • 1 Teaspoon Olive Oil
  • 1 Tablespoon of Fresh Minced Ginger or ½ Teaspoon of Dried Ginger
  • ½ Tablespoon of Fresh Minced Garlic or ½ Teaspoon of Garlic Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon of Dried Turmeric Powder
  • 1 Pinch of Cayenne Pepper (Optional)
  • Parsley for Garnish

You will need:

  • Large Pot
  • Sauté Pan
  • 4 Soup Bowls
  • 4 Soup Spoons

Servings: About 4
Here’s what you’ll do:
Step 1. Warm soup in pot
If frozen, place the unopened bag of soup directly into a pot of boiling water.  Once thawed, remove from pot, and pour warmed soup into the empty pot.  If thawed, pour soup from the bag into the pot to heat.
Step 2. Sauté
Heat olive oil in a sauté pan and add spinach or dark leafy greens.  Sauté lightly until greens wilt. Add garlic and ginger and sauté for an additional 2 minutes.
Step 3. Combine
Add sautéd greens and all remaining ingredients to hot soup and bring to a simmer.      
Step 4. Serve
Divide soup into bowls and top with some fresh parsley.  Don’t forget to serve alongside your favorite deli sandwich to make a satisfying meal!

You will need:

  • Large Pot
  • Multiple Serving Bowls and Utensils for Toppings
  • 8 Soup Bowls
  • 8 Soup Spoons

Here’s what you’ll do:
Step 1. Warm soup in a pot
If frozen, place unopened bag directly in a pot of boiling water.  Once thawed, remove from pot, and pour warmed chili into an empty pot.  If thawed, pour chili from the bag into a pot to heat.
Step 2. Choose toppings and place in individual serving bowls
Don’t forget to have a serving utensil with each topping if needed.
Step 3. Stage your chili bar
Place the pot of heated Numero Uno Chili next to 8 soup bowls and spoons. Have a ladle near the pot for easy self-serve.  (Don’t forget the napkins!)  Place bowls of toppings close by.
Step 4. Open the line!
Have your guests serve themselves and create their perfect chili!

  • 8 Slices of your Favorite Cheese (we like Cheddar Jack)
  • Butter
  • Optional Ingredients for Grilled Cheese...
  • - Bacon
  • - Tomato slices
  • - Ham
  • - Turkey
  • - Avocado

You will need:

  • Large Pot
  • Pan or Griddle for Grilled Cheese
  • Spatula
  • 4 Soup Bowls
  • 4 Soup Spoons
  • 4 Plates

Servings: About 4
Here’s what you’ll do:
Step 1. Warm soup in pot
If frozen, place the unopened bag directly in a pot of boiling water.  Once thawed, remove from pot, and pour warmed soup into the empty pot.  If thawed, pour soup from the bag into a pot to heat.
 Step 2. Prep Grilled Cheese
Butter each piece of bread and place cheese on the alternate side.  Grill cheese in a pan on medium heat until bread is golden brown, and cheese is melted.  Add any other ingredients and top with another piece of buttered bread.  Flip and grill to perfection!
 Step 3. Serve
Divide soup into 4 bowls.  Cut sandwiches in half for dipping ease!  Yum!
