Reuben Sandwich Recipe

As sandwich connoisseurs, we believe a Reuben should be two things -- delicious and fully loaded! And when you’re using Vienna Beef Corned Beef, we can assure you that your sandwich will be both. The Reuben is a classic sandwich for good reason. The core components include: Rye bread, Swiss cheese,  Vienna Beef Sauerkraut, and Thousand Island dressing. The pièce de résistance? Vienna Beef Corned Beef!
If you plan on making Corned Beef this St. Paddy’s Day, save some of the leftovers to make a mouthwatering Reuben sandwich! Here is everything you’ll need:
Ingredients:

  • 3 oz. Vienna Beef Corned Beef
  • 1 oz. Swiss cheese
  • 2 oz. Vienna Beef Sauerkraut
  • 1 oz. Thousand Island Dressing
  • 2 slices Rye or Pumpernickel Bread
  • 1 pat Softened Butter

Directions:

  • Preheat ungreased frying pan over low heat
  • Lightly butter each slice of bread on both sides
  • Spread Thousand Island dressing on one side of each slice
  • Top one of the slices of bread with corned beef, sauerkraut, and Swiss cheese and close with the second slice
  • Grill sandwich on one side for 1-2 minutes, being careful to adjust heat so as not to burn bread
  • Flip entire sandwich over and grill the other side for 1-2 minutes
  • Continue until bread is toasted and Swiss cheese is melted
  • Cut and serve hot

While the Reuben sandwich is perfect on its own, we recommend pairing with some kettle cooked chips and even a pickle spear or two! Will you be serving up this sammie this month?
