Holiday Cocktail Frank Recipes

Tis’ the season for holiday parties, family, football, and food. Whatever you are celebrating, Vienna Beef Cocktail Franks are the perfect addition to any spread and are a guaranteed crowd pleaser.
Some ideas for feeding your friends and family:

Bacon Wrapped Weenies
  • 1 (1lb.) Package of Vienna Beef Cocktail Franks
  • 1 (1lb.) package of bacon, strips cut into thirds
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 bottle Vienna Dusseldorf Mustard

You will need:
Toothpicks
Baking sheet, ungreased and lined with parchment paper
Servings: About 50 pieces
 
Here’s what you’ll do:
Step 1. Preheat conventional oven to 325 degrees
Step 2. Prepare the bacon
In a bowl, mix the brown sugar and Cayenne pepper until combined.  Add the bacon pieces a few at a time, turning over to ensure each piece is coated well.
Step 3. Assemble
Wrap each cocktail Frank in one piece of bacon and secure it with a toothpick.  Place evenly on an ungreased baking tray.
Step 4. Bake
Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until sugar is melted and bacon is crispy.
Step 5. Serve
Arrange on your favorite party platter with Dusseldorf mustard for dipping.  Keep toothpicks in the bites for easy self-serving! 

Cocktail Frank Holiday Snowman
  • 1 (1lb) Package of Vienna Beef Cocktail Franks
  • 1 Package Refrigerated Crescent Dough
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon Poppy seeds (optional)

You will need:
Pan Spray
Baking tray
Parchment paper
Brush for egg wash
Servings: about 40 pieces
 
Here’s what you’ll do:
Step 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Step 2. Prepare crescent dough
Unroll dough and press together perforations to make 2 large rectangles.  With a pizza cutter cut each rectangle into 20 strips making a total of 40 strips.
Step 3. Wrap and top
Wrap each cocktail frank with 1 crescent strip and arrange into the desired shape on a prepared baking tray. Brush tops with beaten egg and sprinkle with poppy seeds (optional).
Step 4. Bake
Bake for 12-15 minutes until dough is golden brown.
Step 5. Serve
Arrange on your favorite party platter with various dipping sauces such as mustards, BBQ sauce, or top with giardiniera for extra color.
Pro-Tip- Instead of a Snowman, shape the wrapped franks into a circle for a wreath, Christmas tree, Star of David, Snowflake, or any other fun festive holiday shape. 

 

Honey Garlic Cocktail Franks
  • 2 (1lb) Packages of Vienna Beef Cocktail Franks
  • 2 cups ketchup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons hot sauce or sriracha
  • 2 tablespoons honey

 
You will need:
Crockpot or Saucepot (5qt)
Toothpicks
Extra napkins
Servings: about 100 pieces
 
Here’s what you’ll do:
Step 1. Combine
In a bowl, combine Ketchup, brown sugar, garlic powder, hot sauce or sriracha, and honey and whisk together well.  Pour mixture in a slow cooker or large saucepan.  Add cocktail franks and stir well, to coat.
Step 2. Heat
On the LOW setting of your crockpot, heat for 30-45 minutes before serving or 30 minutes in a sauce pot, stirring occasionally.
Step 3. Serve
Serve with toothpicks and napkins!
