Dear Frank's
Inducted on 9th Jul 2013

The village of Deerfield was just beginning to feel those suburban north shore growing pains back in 1977, when an iconic Chicago hot dog stand emerged. Dear Franks had the special charm seen only in the 1950’s & 60’s food “joints” where patrons could come and enjoy the quintessential Vienna Beef Chicago-Style hot dogs. Today, that charisma has allowed Dear Franks to enjoy the longevity and popularity it so deserves and has made a home in the Deerfield neighborhood.

Today, more than 35 years and four owners later, Chuck Rayyan and his two sons, Jerry and Bobby, have held the helm for the past 13 years perpetuating and growing their business and Dear Franks’ reputation along the way. They preach ‘guaranteed satisfaction’ and have become the place where business people and families gather to schmooze and dine on those fresh-cut fries, Vienna Beef hot dogs, burgers, Italian Beef sandwiches and much, much more.

The Rayyan family has supported and participated in countless local happenings, charities and sporting events making their neighborhood a true community. With all his societal involvement and merriment Chuck has endearingly been dubbed the social mayor of Deerfield.

Dear Franks joins the Vienna Beef Hall of Fame!

We, at Vienna Beef, believe it’s time to pass along another accolade to Chuck, his family and his entire staff. Chuck and everyone at Dear Franks, “congratulations and welcome” into the Vienna Beef Hot Dog Hall of Fame. From all of us at Vienna, we say thank you for the memories and extend only the best wishes for your continued success.

The Hall of Fame celebrates hot dog and delicatessen operators who have built esteemed reputations within their local communities through innovation, philanthropic leaderships and by featuring Vienna Beef fare over the years. "The Hall of Fame allows Vienna to acknowledge folks in the hot dog business that have contributed a major part of their lives to creating and perpetuating their successful businesses,” said Bob Schwartz, author of “Never Put Ketchup on a Hot Dog” and Hall of Fame creator.
