Beer + Sausage Pairing Guide
Grilled sausages and an ice cold beer — is there any better combination? We certainly don’t think so! While cracking open your favorite beer while you grill out always makes for a delicious meal, there are some sausage and beer pairings that simply cannot be beat. Unlock amazing flavor combinations by pairing your favorite Vienna Beef Frank or Sausage with our beer recommendation below. 👇
Vienna Beef Bratwurst
Our skinless hickory-smoked premium beef brats are brimming with flavor. The garlic flavor within the Bratwurst makes it the perfect complement to the hoppy flavor available in an India Pale Ale. Looking for another option that is full-bodied and just as flavorful? Try pairing your bratwurst with a Cream Ale as well!
Vienna Beef Spicy Smoked Sausage
If you haven’t tried our new Spicy Smoked Sausage yet, you’re missing out! It’s a hot take on the classic flavors Chicagoans have loved for generations. Infused with a special blend of brown sugar and crushed red pepper, this sausage is the perfect way to add spice to your life and the perfect addition to your cookout spread. Because of its spicy flavor, we recommend pairing this sausage with a Porter. Porters are full-bodied without being overpowering, allowing all of the flavors of the Spicy Smoked Sausage to come to life.
Vienna Beef Polish Sausage
Flavorful and loaded with snap, Vienna Beef Polish Sausages are made with our century-old family recipe featuring fresh, domestic beef and our secret blend of spices. Hardwood hickory smoking adds the famous Vienna taste in every hearty Polish Sausage. Try it with your favorite Pilsner, especially if you are serving the Polish Sausage grilled. Pilsners are a fairly dry beer with a strong malt flavor, making the two a perfect match.
Vienna Beef Hot Dogs
Of course, the staple of every summer cookout requires an equally popular beer to be paired with. To complement our all beef hot dogs, we recommend picking up a case of Kolsch beer. Kolsch beers are only produced in the Koln-Bonn metropolitan area in Germany and are a pale golden colored ale. Light and refreshing, they’re the perfect match for your Chicago Style hot dog!
Vienna Beef Salami
While its not your typical barbecue food, we couldn’t create a beer and sausage pairing guide and leave out our Vienna Beef Salami! We make our Beef Salami with a blend of lean meat and beef brisket trimmings, zesty spices, and our famous hardwood hickory smoking. The soft garlic flavor pairs excellently with a lighter beer, like a kolsch or pilsner.
Which beer & sausage pairing will you be trying this summer?
