Brats ‘n’ Kraut 6 Vienna bratwurst links 1 Qt. (32 oz.) sauerkraut 2 (12 oz. each) cans beer 1 Onion, diced 1 Potato, grated 1-2 T. brown sugar 1 Apple, diced Caraway seed to taste
Place sauerkraut in a large pan. Stir in onion, potato, apple, brown sugar and caraway. Pour beer over the sauerkraut. Simmer uncovered 45 minutes. Meanwhile, grill the bratwursts. Add bratwurst to the sauerkraut, cover and simmer 15 minutes. Serve with a good German beer.
