It is with great pride and certainly, our pleasure that we acknowledge Gene & Judes as an inductee into the Vienna Beef Hot Dog Hall of Fame.

Since 1946, when Gene Mormino started a hot dog stand at Polk & Western Streets in Chicago; and with his partner, Gene and Jude have developed an almost cult following. Starting in 1950, in River Grove, Illinois, Gene & Judes has provided the ultimate in consistent quality with their limited, yet extremely popular menu.

It’s a Vienna Beef natural casing hotdog, loaded with condiments, but absolutely no ketchup, and topped with great fresh cut fries that make the grade at Gene & Judes. The no frills great quality and consistency and a lot of tradition is what keeps people coming back.

For over half a century Gene & Judes has created the niche that many other hot dog stand restaurants have aspired to. Their rich tradition has not compromised at all and their countless customers wouldn’t have it any other way. The area has grown since those dirt road days of yesteryear, but people keep coming and the legend keeps growing.
