Dear Mickey and Peter,

It has been nearly four decades now that back in 1967, when folks were watching Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner at the movies, Phil Winnick and Mickey Becker were getting people to have lunch and dinner at their new restaurant…Wolfy’s.

Over the years, Mickey and his staff, including now 25-year veteran, Rita Rosenthal, built a reputation of awesome food, great Service and one of the cleanest, friendliest hot dog stands around. From the aroma of the polish sausage on the grill simmering next to those grilled onions, to the snap of natural casing Vienna Beef hot dogs and fresh cut fries, customers savored the opportunity to treat themselves at Wolfy’s.

And now, looking back at those thrilling days of yesteryear, Peter Romas is perpetuating the tradition of a true Chicago area icon. Vienna Beef would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge and congratulate Mickey and Peter and their loyal staff, in welcoming Wolfy’s to our Hot Dog Hall of Fame.
