Mickey’s Hot Dogs
725 Manheim Rd.
Bellwood, IL 60104
Dear Mickey, Frankie and the entire Sangiocomo family,
Back in 1959 the Sox were playing the Dodgers in the World Series, folks were watching Ben Hur at the theatres and a guy named Mickey was starting up a little hot dog stand in the suburb of Bellwood, just west of Chicago, that would become an icon for nearly a half century. Who knew?
Mickey first opened when his kids were too young to know much about the business, but son Frankie, got started early by taking naps as an infant, under the counter at the restaurant. Since those thrilling days of yesteryear, the family has perpetuated the tradition of great food, neighborhood camaraderie and that cute little hot dog man logo for almost 50 years. Over that time, adding a location in the Addison area, as well; the Mickey’s tradition and reputation has continued.
Vienna Beef would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Mickey’s and welcome this Chicago area icon to the Hot Dog Hall of Fame. Best wishes and continued success from the entire Vienna Beef family.
